Biography
CHARLENE

Horses
know nothing of money, status, beauty, or accomplishment..... Horses see only
our hearts, and they accept or reject us based on what they find within us. In
short, horses do naturally what humans can pass a lifetime without ever
mastering.

TAKE
PRIDE IN WHO YOU ARE!!!!
Charlene
has been drawing since she was a small child, born in
Charleston
WV
in 1957; she was the youngest daughter of Charles and Gwendolyn Harkins
Cummings. Charlene grew up in Bowling Green
Kentucky
with horses and her art .
During
her adult life, Charlene has lived throughout the country working in Corporate
America before moving to
Abilene
TX
in 1998 where she studied art at
McMurry
University
, receiving her BFA in Studio Art/Ceramics in 2000.
Charlene
does not confine her creativity to one medium.
She is a professional potter, painter and photographer.
Charlene has taught High School Art in
Missouri
and
Texas
, which allows her to brain storm with our country’s future generations, which
in turn helps her see her art through different eyes.
Inspired
by the west
Texas
landscape, wildlife and life style, in addition to her love and passion for the
American Quarter Horse, Charlene creates “moments in time” in her oil
paintings. Charlene’s art is
influenced by such master’s as Charles Russell, Tom Lovell Nicolai Fechin and
a very long and distinguished list of Cowboy Artists of America members, along
with the vibrant color theories of Vincent Vangogh, Henri Matisse and the
Fauvists.
My
goal is to steadily grow as an individual and artist as I embark .... on this journey
called LIFE!
